Director of Development, Major Gifts

Sue runs the Major Gifts program at the Foundation, managing a team of development officers and a portfolio of more than 50 prospects.

Prior to joining the Foundation in 2019, she spent 12 years as the director of major gifts at Hartford Hospital, where she played a senior role in closing a five-year capital campaign that raised more than $90 million. She has also worked as the Director of Development, Alumni and Parent Relations at Kingswood-Oxford School and Director of Admission and Financial Aid at Friends’ Central School in Wynnewood, PA. She earned her bachelor’s degree in physical education and math from the University of Vermont and her master’s degree in educational administration from Temple University.

I enjoy the diversity as well as the arts and cultural opportunities that Greater Hartford provides.

Are you involved in any volunteer activities?
I serve on the board of the Estate and Business Planning Council and on the board of the Planned Giving Group of CT. I also volunteer in the West Hartford Girls Lacrosse League as a member of the board and a lacrosse coach for girls in 5th and 6th grade.
