Senior Scholarship Associate

Kandianna joined the Foundation in 2012 and has since supported the Development and Early Childhood teams. Today, as part of the Finance and Administration team, she supports the Foundation’s individual scholarship program, working directly with students on their applications and schools on payments.

She has worked in the nonprofit field for most of her career and has a background in management, grant writing, and medical research.  She received her degree in English and loves to read and write poetry. Her passion for health and wellness led her to complete premedical coursework in the health sciences.  She is now a registered Yoga and Pilates instructor and a personal trainer. She also leads the Foundation’s emergency response team.

She earned her bachelor’s degree in English from Eastern Connecticut State University. When not in the office, you can likely find her with a book, at the theater, or hiking on the beautiful trails in Connecticut.

What do you enjoy most about Greater Hartford?
Hartford has a rich history of the arts, beloved famous authors and great theaters. I have a deep appreciation for the many theaters and museums in  the region and try to get out to see a show as often possible.

What quote best represents your personal philosophy?
"My wish for you is that you continue. Continue to be who and how you are, to astonish a mean world with your acts of kindness. Continue to allow humor to lighten the burden of your tender heart." -Maya Angelou
