The Hartford Foundation is currently matching donations to the Black Giving Circle Fund, up to $25,000.
Now, you can multiply your generosity and impact.
In today’s uncertain environment, it is increasingly important to come together for the good of our community. You can join with others in the region who share a passion for supporting the Black community in Greater Hartford.
The Black Giving Circle Fund at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving was established in partnership with the community in 2015. Members come together to learn about the issues facing Black residents in our region, and then recommend grants to organizations working to address needs in the Black community. In 2016, the Fund awarded its first grant of $10,000 to Catholic Charities, Parker Memorial Family Center to support reading proficiency for children. In 2017, the YMCA of Metropolitan Hartford was awarded a $10,000 grant to support financial literacy programming for youth.
You can become a member of the Black Giving Circle Fund for a minimum annual contribution of $365. And now, you have a unique opportunity to double the value of your investment. Contributions to the Fund will be matched dollar for dollar, thanks to a $25,000 matching grant from the Hartford Foundation. The match applies to new memberships, as well as donations. Gifts of any size are appreciated and help increase the Fund’s annual grantmaking.
Experience the power of giving and creating together, today.
Now is the time to work together toward a common purpose. Let’s examine the critical issues affecting the Black community in Greater Hartford, invest in meaningful solutions, and create sustainable change together.
*UPDATE: We have reached our $25,000 match! As a result, we are no longer able to match donations. Thanks to all who contributed.
