The play Fabian performed in is part of the Judy Dworin Performance Project, which offers programs for children and youth built around a theme that is central to their lives: the absence of one or both incarcerated parents.

In an instant, what should have been a routine delivery became a crisis. After birth, a mother began bleeding, her breathing labored. Dr. Matthew Saidel administered medication, but the bleeding increased, her pulse raced, and the uterus refused to contract.

Like countless nonprofits across the nation, Hill-Stead Museum has seen contributions from corporate, private and government donors dwindle amid a struggling economy. The museum needed to adjust to a new economic reality and find a new revenue source.

New technology is improving literacy and learning skills for deaf and hard-of-hearing students

At the American School for the Deaf, teachers can now hear from every student - out-going and shy alike, and with all abilities - thanks to some innovative technology being used in the classroom.

A SECOND CHANCE

Grant may spur revival of American chestnut trees

On land owned by the Northern Connecticut Land Trust, researchers there are trying to create blight-resistant American chestnut trees.
