Unrestricted Funds By creating an Unrestricted Fund with a gift of $10,000 or more, you address the region’s most urgent needs as they inevitably change over time. These flexible funds support the most promising, creative approaches to strengthening the Greater Hartford region, and enable the Foundation to provide the large, multi-year grants that are its best-known resource to the community. The Hartford Foundation has a long history of making important grants that respond to our community’s changing circumstances. With close to 70% of the total endowment held in unrestricted funds, the Foundation has the flexibility to meet urgent needs and respond to opportunities into the future. The income from all of the Foundation’s unrestricted funds is pooled together to support the Foundation’s regular grants as well as special initiatives. |
