Connecticut residents increasingly find themselves in an informational void on matters as personal as planning their children’s educations and as global as choosing leaders who will sustain the state’s quality of life.

The Connecticut Mirror launched in January 2010, provides independent, non-partisan reporting on Connecticut’s state government, public policy and politics, as well as insight and analysis, disclosing the whys and consequences of public policy decisions.

Trend CT is an independent, nonpartisan, nonprofit website, created in 2015 to reinvigorate coverage of state government, public policy and politics using data journalism.

WNPR’s Capitol Region Reporting Initiative stories and programs highlight a broad range of critical issues affecting Hartford and the 28 other towns and cities that comprise our state’s Capital Region.

United Way 2-1-1 is Connecticut’s free, one-stop connection to the local services you need, from utility assistance, food, housing, child care, after school programs, elder care, crisis intervention and much more. 2-1-1 is always ready to assist you find the help you need. Leaders on Board, a program of Leadership Greater Hartford, works to fill the region’s need for qualified volunteers to serve on the boards of nonprofit organization

Hands On Hartford is the Hartford affiliate of Hands On Network. Hands On Network is an innovative, international, rapidly-growing 58-city alliance of volunteer organizations that promotes and facilitates community engagement and service learning.

United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut's database of volunteer opportunities in the region.

The Connecticut Health Improvement Planning Coalition is a diverse partnership of local, regional, and statewide organizations and agencies that address public health from a variety of traditional and non-traditional perspectives.
