Judith L. Rozie-Battle joins the Hartford Foundation as Senior Program Officer

Judith L. Rozie-Battle has been named a senior program officer at the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving. Her responsibilities will include providing technical assistance to agencies, analyzing grant proposals, recommending grants to the Board of Directors, and monitoring activities supported by each grant.
Ms. Rozie-Battle previously held positions of director, Office of Child Care, Division of Childhood Development, Maryland Department of Education; managing attorney, Legal Aid Society of Hartford County; and director of affirmative action, Executive Office of Human Services, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, as well as program officer at the Hartford Foundation from 1995 to 1999.
She has taught social welfare policy and related fields at the University of Connecticut, Central Connecticut State University, University of North Carolina, University of Wisconsin and Boston University. She is the recipient of an Outstanding Women of Color Award from the University of Wisconsin System, and previously served on advisory committees for the Connecticut Department of Children and Families.
Ms. Rozie-Battle holds a law degree from the University of Minnesota, a master’s degree from the School of Social Work at the University of Connecticut, and a bachelor’s degree from the University of New Haven.
