The Wadsworth extends a welcoming hand to everyone

Last October, 36 teenagers from central and south Hartford watched as a giant mural they created with visiting Los Angeles artist Kim Schoenstadt was unveiled at the Wadsworth Atheneum Museum of Art.

The students had used spray paint and markers to depict objects and words submitted by the community. Once the canvas was covered, a network of vinyl tape was removed, revealing an architectural line drawing.

A Wealth of Treasures

The Wadsworth Atheneum recently acquired Georgia O'Keeffe's Slightly Open Clam Shell, thanks to one woman's quiet support of the arts.
