BOARD CHANGES

Lewis J. Robinson of Hartford has been named chair of the Foundation's board of directors.  Lew has served on the board for six years.  An attorney, he worked for Travelers Insurance Companies for 26 years, serving as general counsel for the Personal Lines Division prior to his retirement.  He has served in leadership roles on many local organizations' boards, in social services, arts, education, and philanthropy.  He is a graduate of Rutgers Law School and Howard University. Susan J. Sappington of Bloomfield has been appointed to the Foundation's board of directors by the United Way of Central and Northeastern Connecticut.  Susan's community engagement has included positions in arts, health care, and civic organizations.  Susan was the founding chairman of the Hartford Foundation's Catalyst Endowment Fund, and served on the Foundation's cultivation committee.  Born in Hartford, Susan graduated from The George Washington University in Washington, D.C. Edward J. Forand Jr. of West Hartford has been named vice chair and Francisco L. Borges of Farmington was re-elected treasurer.  
   


STAFF CHANGES

LouAnn Campanello joined the Foundation as controller.  LouAnn comes to the Foundation with over 12 years of nonprofit experience at the senior financial level.  Her previous employers include American Radio Relay League, Inc. and The Children's Museum of Connecticut.  LouAnn Campanello
   
Emily Sharkey joined the Foundation as administrative assistant for the program department and Brighter Futures Initiative.  A graduate of Middlebury College and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Emily interned at the Wadsworth Atheneum, and as an analyst at a private equity firm. Christopher H. Hall has been named vice president for planning and strategy.  Chris has been with the Foundation for 19 years, most recently as vice president for programs and special projects. 

Donna E. Jolly, with the Foundation since 1999, was promoted to vice president for communications and external relations.

 
   


NEW VOLUNTEER COMMITTEE CHAIR

Luis Cabán of Hartford has been named chair of the Latino Endowment Fund Steering Committee.  Luis is executive director of Southside Institutions Neighborhood Alliance, a neighborhood revitalization organization in Hartford.  He has committed 35 years of work to leadership and community development of minority communities, principally Puerto Rican and Latino, throughout the United States and Puerto Rico.
