Hartford Foundation, State, City and Private Funding Saves School
Thanks to a rush of support from all sectors of the community, 250 Hartford students began classes at the new school they had hoped to attend this fall.
About 200 scholarship recipients and family members, donors and volunteers celebrated at the Hartford Foundation's annual scholarship reception on a perfect spring evening last June.
More than 800 volunteers provided about $500,000 worth of free dental services to 1,200 state residents at the Connecticut Mission of Mercy event last spring.
