Access to Health Services: Who is missing out and why?
The Catalyst Endowment members spent 2008 studying Access to Health Services: Who is missing out and why?  The group examined access beyond insurance... Even if everyone had a way to pay for health services, what barriers exist that challenge people from getting proper care? These included lack of good information, language differences, cultural challenges, and transportation. The approach will be tailored to get at local issues where Catalyst grants can have an impact.

Together, Catalyst members explored these and related issues and how they  affect Greater Hartford communities. In spring and summer meetings, members learned about successful intervention strategies, and went on to award two grants to respond to challenges in the communities. Members are now in the process of choosing a new topic of study for 2009.
